Basics About the 2021 Jeep Renegade

The Renegade is a subcompact SUV released by Jeep in 2020 which has received excellent reviews from car journalists who praised its superior road handling, safety features, class-leading cabin quietness, and powerful exterior design. Seating up to five passengers in comfort, the Renegade can also carry a maximum of 50.8 cubic feet of cargo in its spacious interior.
There’s a choice of two powerplants on offer, with the 2.4-liter Tigershark offering 180 hp and 175 lb.-ft of torque, and the 1.3-liter four-cylinder direct-injection turbo, which is 177 hp with stop-start technology and has a higher 210 lb.-ft torque and improved efficiency. Both plants have a nine-speed automatic transmission, and the 2.4-liter plant gives 22 mpg in the city and 30 on the highway, while the 1.3-liter turbo manages 24 and 32 mpg, respectively.

Price Guide

With nine different models that can all be customized, your Renegade has an almost unlimited range of possibilities. Starting, we begin with the Sport trim that starts at $22,850 in two-wheel-drive. Then, we have the Jeepster, whose MSRP starts at $24,990 and adds features, including the remote vehicle start and alloy wheels, and next is the Latitude with an MSRP starting at $25,720.
The Upland and Freedom models come with 4WD as standard and have MSRPs’ starting at $25,795 and $26,610. The special edition 80th Anniversary and Islander models start at MSRP $27,070 and $27,840, and finally, the top-of-the-line Limited and Trailhawk models begin with the same MSRP of $29,770 and come with 4WD as standard.

New and Unique Features

The 2021 lineup features some nice upgrades on the 2020 set that came before it. Every Renegade trim now has up-to-date safety features, including land departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. The 7-inch touchscreen information and entertainment system that seamlessly connects with your smart device through Apple CarPlay or Android Audio are standard on all trims – an improvement from the previous year when it was an extra on some trims.
While Limited and Trailhawk are only available in all-wheel-drive, the other models come front-wheel drive as standard, with 4WD as an available option.
