Considered the oldest state park in Ohio, this place was established in the late 1940s and has since been one of the most popular destinations among picnic-goers from all over the state.

3. Scioto Audubon Metro Park

If you’re looking for a beautiful picnic destination located right in the heart of the state capital, Scioto Audubon Metro Park is the place to be. Established in what was once a busy industrial area in downtown Columbus, this metro park is now a lush oasis of nature and a popular weekend destination. Some of the best picnic areas are in the western part of the park, right along the banks of the Scioto River, so be sure to go hunting for the perfect spot!
