Hidden Valley Golf Course: 580 W William St

Hidden Valley Golf Course is Delaware’s only municipal golf course. As its name suggests, it’s a picturesque course nestled in Delaware’s hidden valley. Its nine holes take you past a winding creek and lush shade trees. Of course, the water, trees, and some sand traps challenge golfers of all abilities. The 1,647-yard course has three colored gold tees for different skill levels. This makes time at Hidden Valley Golf Course great fun for novices, experienced golfers, and everyone in between!

Hidden Valley Golf Course opens between April 1 and mid-November. It closes during inclement weather. You must wear a collared shirt for admission.

Glenross Golf Course: 231 Clubhouse Drive

Glenross Golf Club boasts a 6,600-yard course with rolling fairways, wetlands, and a natural creek. Large oak trees border many of the 18 holes. These majestic trees increase the difficulty factor while providing shade on sunny days. Glenross also has seven ponds and 50 sand bunkers, so you’ll need to be on your game – but don’t let that intimidate you! The course has its own instructors if you need some pointers. After a game with friends, quench your thirst at the Glenross Pub.

Glenross Golf Club is open to the public, although members play for a discounted price. There is no formal dress code.

Delaware Golf Course: 3329 Columbus Pike

Playing Delaware Golf Course feels a little like playing two courses in one location. The original nine holes, designed by celebrated golfer Donald Ross, date back to the 1920s. The course later gained another nine holes developed by PGA pro Fuzzy Zoeller and Dr. Michael Hurdzan. While the course isn’t the most cohesive, it’s certainly challenging. Deep bunkers and water features are all designed to derail your game. The beautifully manicured trees and green should help you keep your cool.

Delaware Golf Course has discounted membership rates for seniors. All membership packages included unlimited use of the course and golf carts. Members must wear a collared shirt on the grounds at all times.

Oakhaven Golf Course: 2871 US Highway 23 N

Opening in 1994, Oakhaven Golf Course is a relatively new addition to Delaware. The 18-hole course has quickly gained a following for its modern facilities. It has an open front section and narrow back passage through local woodlands. Five colored tee sets help it appeal to golfers of a range of skills. If your game needs work, practice your swing at the 50-acre light-up driving range or indoor putting green. Oakhaven also has its own pro shop and a bar for unwinding after your game.

Oakhaven Golf Course opens on weekdays and weekends. Seniors enjoy discounted rates on weekdays. Players must wear collared shirts.

Escape from the pace of the city streets and get back to nature at these Delaware golf courses. They make it easy to clear your head while you’re honing your skills.
