Nature path | Performance Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Delaware in Delaware, OHOne of the greatest things about living in Delaware, OH is that it is surrounded by natural wonders. With dense forests, stunning lakes, and beautiful rolling hills, the area around our town has so much to offer to those who love nature; in just a short drive, you can fully immerse yourself in it. If you’d like to get out of the city for a day trip or even a weekend camping in the wilderness, here are some of our favorite state parks you really ought to check out!

Alum Creek State Park

Because Ohio doesn’t have a coastline, many people think there aren’t any good beaches, but this, in fact, isn’t true at all, as there are loads of beaches located on Ohio’s many lakes, and Alum Creek State Park is home to the largest in the state! Set on the side of the huge 3,300-acre Alum Creek Reservoir, the beach stretches a colossal 3000 feet, and visitors can relax, sunbathe, go swimming, or even rent a jet ski to ride over the reservoir.
Camping is allowed in Alum Creek State Park in designated areas, so you can spend an entire weekend soaking up nature before heading back to the city. With its huge trunk space and seating for 8 people, a new Jeep Grand Wagoneer will easily be able to transport your whole family and all your baggage for a weekend in the wilderness!

Delaware State Park

Located off Route 23, just outside of town, Delaware State Park is a 1,686-acre park with many amenities and recreational activities. The park boasts dense forests; wide, open meadows; and a 1,300-acre lake in which you can go swimming, boating, and fishing, and there are also many great spots to settle down and enjoy a picnic. If you want to spend the night here, there are loads of spots to set up your tent and enjoy a few days camping or night fishing!

Mount Gilead State Park

Although not quite as large as these other parks, Mount Gilead is still a great place to come for a day trip. The 191-acre park is peaceful and contains some beautiful, wooded areas along with a small lake in which you can go fishing. There are a few hiking trails that take you into the hills, around the lake, and through the forests, and there are some excellent spots to lay out the picnic blanket and watch nature do its thing!

These are just a few of our favorite spots to get back to nature, but there are, of course, loads more in the local area! Now, the only difficult part is deciding which one to go for first. Whether you’re heading out for a spot of fishing or taking the family for a weekend camping trip, all of these places will suit your needs! So, start making your plans today to visit each one and decide which is your favorite!
