2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe | Performance Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Delaware in Delaware, OHJoining the Jeep lineup in 2021 is the Jeep Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid. Initially available in the four-door Sahara and Rubicon trim levels, the 4xe will offer all of the Wrangler’s versatility and legendary off-road capability. With its removable roof and doors and fold-flat windshield, the 4xe enables you to enjoy wind-in-the-hair freedom along with whisper-quiet electric power.

Plug-In Hybrid Power

The 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine integrated with two electric motors and a 400-volt, 17-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard. The powertrain has an output of 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, which will take you from zero to 60 mph in just 6 seconds.

You can travel up to 25 miles on electric-only power in the Wrangler 4xe, and with an EPA-estimated 50 mpg of gasoline-equivalent, it has a total range of more than 400 miles. E-Selec driving modes enable you to choose from Electric for using only battery power or E-Save to reserve battery power for later. For the best of both worlds, select Hybrid mode.

Fully charging the battery will take around two hours with a Level 2 charger. While driving, the 4xe utilizes regenerative braking, while selecting battery charge mode uses the engine to replenish the battery.

Off-Road Performance

The Trail Rated Wrangler 4xe offers Jeep’s unstoppable off-road performance with superb traction, maneuverability, and articulation. Sahara models feature a Selec-Trac full-time four-wheel-drive system, a two-speed transfer case, Dana 44 heavy-duty axles, skid plates, and 20-inch wheels.

For even more capability, the Rubicon trim gets a 4:1 Rock-Trac heavy-duty four-wheel-drive system, electronic locking front and rear differentials, electronic disconnecting front stabilizer bar, rock rails, tougher shocks, and 17-inch wheels with 33-inch off-road tires. With 10.8 inches of ground clearance, you can ford water up to 30 inches deep.
