Whether you enjoy mountain biking, golfing, or learning a bit of history, you’ll have a good time at any of these fun attractions!

Go Ape!

When you’re looking for an adrenaline-filled adventure in one of Delaware’s most beautiful state parks, head to Lumas Pond State Park and check out the treetop adventures at Go Ape! The main treetop adventure is a two to three-hour aerial journey that takes you through the forest canopy. You’ll get to enjoy tree-to-tree crossings, long zip lines, and huge forest swings as you make your way through the course.

The one-hour Treetop Journey lets you navigate over suspended bridges, obstacle courses, and a 120-foot zip line. Thrill-seekers enjoy the Monkey Drop. After climbing up to the 40-foot wooden platform, you’ll be attached to a jump line. Once you jump off the platform, you’ll free-fall for about 10 feet before the jump line stops you.

Gallant Farm

Step back in time to see what life on a Depression-era farm in Delaware was like at Gallant Farm. Though currently closed, they are looking forward to reopening to the public once possible. Costumed interpreters work the farm just like they would have when the farm was first established. You can see them plowing the field, planting the garden, and cooking on a wood stove. Gallant Farm holds special events throughout the year like Maple Syrup Time, the Antique Tractor Show, and Winter Evening on the Farm. The farm and events are free to attend.

Fieldstone Golf Club

When you become a member of the elite northern Delaware 184-acre Fieldstone Golf Club, you become a part of what Golf Incorporated called the “Most Admired Private Club.” The par 71 course stretches 6,748 yards with undulating hills, dramatic elevation changes, and numerous sets of tees per hole. After a fun game of golf, enjoy dining on upscale cuisine and sipping handcrafted cocktails at Fieldstone’s elegant clubhouse. The Club Dining Room overlooks the golf course and is available for special meetings and banquets.

Junction and Breakwater Trail

Enjoy the scenic beauty of the Delaware shore by hiking, biking, or jogging the 6-mile long Junction and Breakwater Trail. Originally a rail for the Pennsylvania Railroad, the trail was recently converted into a multi-use recreational trail. Connecting Lewes and Rehoboth beaches on the southwestern side of Cape Henlopen State Park, the trail is open to bicyclists, runners, and those wishing to walk their well-behaved, leashed dog. As you follow the trail, watch for local wildlife like deer and raccoons.

Ashland Nature Center

Explore the woodlands, marsh, and Red Clay Creek at the 130-acre Ashland Nature Center. The nature center is an important educational attraction for those who are interested in birds and the local flora and fauna. The pet-friendly interpretive trails provide important information about the native and migratory birds that pass through. Stop at the butterfly house and the hummingbird haven to learn more about these animals! Members can visit for free and non-members pay a small entrance fee.
