If you reside in the Delaware, Ohio area you can find plenty of outdoor attractions to visit, especially during warm months! Here are four outdoor attractions to plan a visit to Delaware, Ohio.

  1. Alum Creek State Park

Alum Creek State Park is a 4,630-acre park, where you can take your boat out on the 3,387-acre reservoir. Launch your boat from one of the four public-access ramps within the park or you can take advantage of the full-service marina with 240 slips as some have water and electric offerings.

Utilize one of the park’s 286 electric campsites if you’re not boating. You may reserve a site in a sunny, wooded, or a premium area that oversees the lake. You also have access to a 20, 30, or 50- amp electrical hookup, along with a heated shower facility with toilets and access to playgrounds, basketball courts, and horseshoe pits.

If you’re only spending the day at the park, try playing disc golf on the park’s course! The course is 18 holes and there’s no charge to play or rent equipment. Bring your dog to the park’s four-acre dog park that offers water sports and fenced areas for small and large dogs. You may hunt or fish at the park if you have a valid license through the state.

  1. Delaware Golf Club

The Delaware Golf Club is a great course to practice your golf swing or compete in an 18-hole round against your friends or family. The practice facility features a lighted and heated driving range, where beginners and experts can hone their swing. The facility includes a putting green and a chipping green with sand bunkers to help you master your short game. The 18-hole course can pose a challenge for you as it has three valleys and curved hillsides.

  1. Delaware State Park

Delaware State Park is a 1,686-acre recreation area where you can hike, picnic, swim and enjoy the scenery of central Ohio. If you own a boat with unlimited horsepower, use it while at the park and gain access to three boat-launch ramps!

One of the popular attractions at Delaware State Park is waterfowl hunting, but you can only do it on Sundays, according to park rules. You may bow hunt and trap in designated areas. However, you need to have a valid Ohio hunting license to use the park’s hunting area. If you’re with a large group, use the right picnic areas on the main beach or Buckeye Cove. Buckeye Cove has two charcoal grills and a 24′ by 48′ paved surface near the lake.

  1. Boardman Arts Park

Boardman Arts Park is a great place to relax and appreciate the arts. The park has an outdoor art gallery where you can look at pieces created by locals and exhibited for the park. You can still enjoy a picnic at the park or play basketball at the nearby courts. You might sign up for an event or a class at the park’s multi-use venue!
