Main Street Delaware Makers Market

Shop for handmade goods from local artists and crafters just in time for the upcoming holiday season. This event takes place in downtown Delaware on Thursday, September 28, and Thursday, October 19. You can browse the booths from 6 to 9 p.m. along Main St. on those dates.

Perkins Observatory Guest Night

This is your chance to try out the 32-inch Schottland telescope at Perkins Observatory, the planetarium at Ohio Wesleyan University. The active research facility is open to the public on its periodic Guest Night, which also includes tours of the observatory and guest lectures. The next event takes place on September 29 from 8 to 10 p.m.
Perkins Observatory is located at 3199 Columbus Pk. Tickets for Guest Night cost $10 in advance or $12 at the door.

Trails and Treats

Head down the walking trail at Mingo Park to find games, candy, vendors, and other fun surprises! Kids can take part in Trunk or Treat, and they’ll receive a free pumpkin too, while supplies last. You can even enjoy live music at the park’s picnic shelter.
Don’t miss this free community event on October 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Mingo Park. It’s located at 500 E Lincoln Ave.

Alum Creek State Park

Enjoy the colorful fall foliage with a visit to Delaware’s Alum Creek State Park. You’ll find a dog park, disc golf course, and trails for biking, hiking, and horseback riding. Stay a few days at one of the waterfront campsites to spend time in the natural beauty of this Ohio park.
Alum Creek State Park is located at 3305 S Old State Rd. It’s open from sunrise to sunset as well as outside those hours for recreational activities like hiking, hunting, fishing, and boating.

Olentangy Caverns

October is your last chance this year to experience this natural wonder, which has self-guided cave tours, mini golf, a playground, and a petting zoo. Olentangy Caverns hosts fall fun weekends from September 23 through October 29, with pumpkins, a scavenger hunt, horse-pulled hayrides, and even a magic show on October 15.
Olentangy Caverns is open rain or shine every day from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. It’s located at 1779 Home Rd.
