Delaware, OH is a city that prides itself on its history, beautiful buildings, and hometown charm. Before strolling through the historic streets of Delaware this summer, you’ll want to grab a frozen treat from one of the town’s many amazing ice cream parlors: we’ve made a list of some of our favorites for you here!
1. Dari Point
Dari Point doesn’t look like much from the outside, but inside is a treasure trove of wonderful treats. There are so many flavors of delicious treats here, you’ll have trouble deciding between them all. The portions are very generous, and they even have a small size for pets if you want to bring your dog along. The shop is decorated with charming, hand-drawn posters of various menu items, and they have lots of seating outside on their bright blue picnic tables.
2. Sticky Fingers
Sticky Fingers is a beautiful old-fashioned parlor with lots of indoor and outdoor seating, though you’ll probably want to sit outside when possible as their porch has an excellent view of the lake. They have lots of excellent flavors, and if you can’t decide which one you want, you’re in luck – they also have a flight option, so that you can try tiny sizes of four different flavors! We recommend trying the birthday cake or the chocolate fudge brownie.
3. Eda’s Italian Ice
This is the best place in the region for great Italian Ice. They have a wide assortment of flavors, including lots of classics as well as some more creative choices. Eda’s also serves excellent gelato, if you’re looking for something a little creamier – we recommend trying the classic vanilla gelato or the root beer Italian ice.
4. Rollies
If you’ve been looking for a new way to enjoy frozen treats, then get ready: at Rollies, the cream is quickly frozen after being poured in a thin layer on a super cold surface, then rolled into delightful-looking spirals and topped with all sorts of toppings and syrups. The creations here are really beautiful and Instagram-worthy, as each dessert is topped with fruit, cookies, whipped cream, or candies that correspond to the flavor of the cream.
5. Ciao Cafe
Ciao Cafe is another great place to find authentic Italian gelato, which is served alongside a selection of excellent cafe drinks and other food. We recommend trying the espresso flavor, which has a rich and complex flavor that compliments the sweetness of the gelato perfectly. The cafe has a great welcoming atmosphere with lots of comfortable places to sit, and the employees are always positive and friendly.
