Who doesn’t love a bakery? The smell of freshly baked cookies, bread, or scones is enough to make anyone give up on their diet! When you’re ready to splurge, visit one of the local bakeries around Delaware, OH, where you’ll get much nicer baked goods than what you’ll find at typical grocery stores!
Crumbl Cookies
Crumbl makes just about the best cookies you’ll ever taste. You’ll find Crumbl at 820 Sunbury Rd, and they’re open 8am to 10pm on weekdays and from 8am until midnight on Friday and Saturday. Their menu rotates, so there’s always something new and interesting to try. One week you might get cinnamon fry bread and another week a raspberry lemonade cookie. But there are always great cookies to choose from and at least one classic flavor, like chocolate chip, that you can count on!
They also serve up fantastic ice cream here. Choose from peanut butter brittle, cookie dough crunch, brownie fudge, snickerdoodle, vanilla bean, or raspberry cheesecake. And: they’ll cater! If you order cookies for catering, you can choose from their most popular flavors, which are too numerous to mention. Some of our favorites are the Aggie Blue Mint, Berry Crunch, Buckeye Brownie, caramel apple, and Chocolate ft. REESE’S Puff cookies.
The Dipped Donut
The Dipped Donut is at 256 S Sandusky St, and this is a great place to stop in and grab something quick. They also have a great gluten-free donut menu!! If you’ve been missing great donuts due to a gluten allergy, you’ll want to head to the Dipped Donut fast. In fact, later in 2022, they will open their completely gluten-free bakery and retail store, so even those with severe celiac can be 100% secure against any possibility of cross-contamination.
They’re closed on Mondays and open from 6am until noon every other day of the week. Try their Donut of the Month, which is always amazing, or just get one of their amazing cake donuts and choose the icing and toppings you want. Their powdered sugar donuts are great. Personally, we’re fond of the cinnamon sugar cake donut dipped in maple and topped with graham crackers. But you do you!
Fresh Start Cafe and Bakery
At 24 N Sandusky St, Fresh Start is baking up a wide variety of delectable desserts and serving them with awesome coffee. They also have some good gluten-free options, and the service and atmosphere here will make you want to sit and stay a spell. This is a wonderful place to have a bite and a chat with friends or just sit and people watch.
Their pastries are so delicious and fresh, and their cinnamon rolls will cause you to struggle to stay on your diet! The muffin choices are great, and the scones are authentic, buttery, and fresh. Try one of their biscuit breakfast sandwiches if you want something that’s not so sweet: these are nothing like the soggy mess you get from fast-food joint breakfasts.
