2020 Jeep Gladiator
It's obvious that Jeep puts a lot of thought into naming its vehicles. Just take a look at the 2020 Gladiator - this truck really looks like it could gobble up everything in its path! And yet, it's beautiful to boot. Although the Gladiator ranks as a midsize pickup, its staunch stance, crisp lines, and beefy grille make it a fierce competitor in both the midsize and full-size lineups of pickup trucks.
Trim Levels
Jeep offers the 2020 Gladiator in four very diverse trim levels: SPORT, SPORT S, OVERLAND, and RUBICON. Each trim is packed with standard and available features, so you can completely customize your pickup to your needs, desires, and budget. Starting with the SPORT trim, standard features include removable top and doors, heavy-duty Dana 44 axles, 17-inch steel wheels, and lockable rear storage. The SPORT S trim features 17-inch silver aluminum wheels, power heated mirrors, and there's an available removable Bluetooth speaker. The OVERLAND trim features 18-inch crystal aluminum wheels, signature LED headlights and taillights, side-steps, and body-color fender flares. Finally, the legendary RUBICON trim features high clearance blacked-out fender flares with 33-inch off-road tires and the ultimate in off-road capability with the Rock-Trac 4x4 System. Also standard on the RUBICON are the vented hood, steel off-road rock rails for the cab and bed, and front and rear tow hooks.
Engine
We've all seen the commercials where the Jeep Gladiator effortlessly crawls over rocky terrain and trudges through fender-deep mud. That's all thanks to the 3.6-liter 285 horsepower Pentastar V6 engine that comes standard on all four models of the 2020 Gladiator. But the Gladiator isn't limited to rock climbing or jungle forging; it's equally capable on-road and received an impressive 17/22 mpg rating.
Performance
Despite it being a pickup, the 2020 Gladiator is a capable handler on windy roads and has a nice sporty feel to it. The standard 6-speed manual, heavy-duty transmission delivers capable acceleration and takeoff that won't disappoint. There's also an optional 8-speed automatic transmission available that is smooth and responsive. Where the Gladiator comes into its own in performance, though, is off the beaten path. With an incredible towing capacity of 7,650 pounds and hauling capacity of up to 1,600 pounds, this mid-size truck simply blows away the competition.
Interior
The interior of the Gladiator is packed with comfort and convenience features and many of them come standard across all trim levels. The standard features include rear 60/40 folding seats, 8-speaker audio system, Uconnect touchscreen display, and Parkview Rear Back-Up Camera. The SPORT S adds to that a leather-wrapped steering wheel and available Alpine Premium Audio System. The OVERLAND trim adds ambient LED lighting, dual remote USB ports, and available leather-trimmed bucket seats, shift knob, and park brake handle. On top of all that the RUBICON adds premium signature seats and red interior accent stitching.
Safety Features
The Gladiator's safety features are impressive and include stability and traction control, rear-view camera, daytime running lights, front and side airbags, and a security system. Additional options available include Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.
